There has been an increase of persons in the neighborhood offering services and products. Some are legitimate solicitors/vendors and some aren't. The only way to circumvent and prevent the annoying legitimate door to door solicitors is to post the 2 signs shown below in your yard and at your door. The "No Soliciting" sign must show the municipal code and the "No Trespassing" sign must show the statute to be enforceable.
Don't call JSO if your signs lack the code and statute. JSO is reluctant to respond to any calls with regards to solicitors in the neighborhood, unless these signs are posted on your private property. It is a conflict of interest, as JSO issues the soliciting permits ($$) to the vendors.
Any "No Soliciting" sign at a subdivision entrance isn't enforceable and the solicitors know this fact.
If you feel the need to answer the door without these 2 signs in your yard, it is best to ask to see the solicitor's permit and ID. If you can, write the information down or snap a photo of the credentials with your smart phone. Most will walk away without showing you anything other than a rude gesture or remark. It is advisable not to engage these people with hostility, as they may not be solicitors.
Be very, very careful, as there have been some harmful home invasions and burglaries in the 32225 area.
